Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website.
I hope that the information here will be useful to you - perhaps in helping you understand more about health and mental health, or in helping you learn about psychology and psychotherapy. I also hope that the information on this site will provide you with a sense of who I am and what I do, in order to decide whether I might be an appropriate psychologist with whom you can consult or work.
I am a clinical psychologist in independent practice in New York City since 1994. My professional activities include the practice of individual and couples psychotherapy, psychological testing, clinical supervision, and organizational consulting. I am also active in doctoral training and research as a faculty member in a university psychology department, which keeps me up-to-date with recent advances in health and mental health.
My work as a psychologist has centered on problems with anxiety and stress, particularly within the context of our multicultural society. I have helped people with conflicts in: interracial identity; adolescent-young adult identity and ethnic identity; intergenerational relationships; interracial relationships; and adoption. Such conflicts often coexist with struggles in mood regulation, depression, and anxiety, for which there are effective psychological treatments and healthy solutions.
Please feel free to visit the other areas of my website, which include additional description of the services I offer as well as resources and links to other relevant sites. And, should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.
With best wishes,
Philip S. Wong, Ph.D.
